Mascot designs, sketches, and models - WIP
- Our very first sketches

- This is our first sketch for our mascot to see which one fits with our app’s aesthetic. We want to change the design of how the normal cat looks by trying to sketch the cat’s head with different shapes such as triangle, square, rectangle, etc.
- However, when we get back together to discuss again, we think the way to get love from the user is more important than trying to make the cat unique and stand out.
- Final decision
- After all, we decided to change the mascot into a normal cat but much more cute and unique such as coloring, texturing, etc.
→ Fluffy, short legs, short arms, big head, chubby cheek, cute eyes, etc.
- Put sketches into Blender

- Here is our model when we sketch out and model the mascot into Blender
- During the process when modeling the mascot, we decided to take ‘Lucky Cat’ as our visual reference. Since ‘Lucky Cat’ represents luck in money, we want our app to get that lucky from this cat.
- Coloring and Texturing

- Here is our process of coloring and texturing the mascot. We try to use our two main colors which are neon green and neon purple with different shades to see which one is better.
- We also try to put the mascot into Adobe Substance Painter to make up and decorate the cat to make it unique and cute.
- Final Design Mascot

- Posing + Rendering

- At first, we put our model into Mixamo to borrow the animation and pose from the website but it does not work. We think because the body proportion of our mascot is not fit with their website.
- So we have to put our own bones to pose our mascot (no more animation)
- Other models
- Cat paw coin model: Since our app is about money, we want to make something that is related to money and stands for our budget.
- At first, we want to make another icon to represent money. But when we think back, that idea is a little bit normal and does not make our app unique.

Nhi Nguyen try to improve the lighting and rendering
- Therefore, we make another model to represent our money sign, which is the cat paw coin.
