Interactive 1 is a fundamental course within the Bachelor of Digital Media program at RMIT University. It aims to equip students with essential principles of interactivity and design for web-based interactions.
The course aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the ever-expanding field of design. Beginning with an introduction to HTML and CSS, students will learn how these scripting languages are applied in contemporary web design, incorporating the latest standards such as modern web typography and responsive web design.
Furthermore, the course encourages students to view the web as an experimental and creative medium by exploring JavaScript and libraries like P5.js. While the focus is on foundational concepts, this exploration will hopefully inspire students to venture into new territories with confidence and curiosity.
Giang Nguyen is a Creative Director, Designer/Artist, Academic, and Entrepreneur working across disciplines.
